Moldova debuts at ASI Best Sommelier of the World 2026

Moldova is participating for the first time in the ASI Best Sommelier of the World 2026 competition, held in Lisbon, Portugal. Sommelier Dumitru Coșleț, who has 20 years of hospitality experience, is representing the country.

The event, organized by the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale, tests participants through theoretical and practical exams covering global wine regions, grape varieties, tasting techniques, and food pairing. The participation is supported by Purcari, the Association of Sommeliers of Moldova, and Wine of Moldova, aiming to promote Moldovan wine culture and expertise on an international stage.
