Moldova drops 19 places in Global Investment Risk and Resilience Index
Moldova has experienced a significant decline in its standing on the Global Investment Risk and Resilience Index (GIRRI). According to the May 2026 edition of the index, produced by Henley & Partners in partnership with AlphaGeo, the country fell 19 positions, dropping from 82nd to 101st place.
The GIRRI evaluates the capacity of nations to withstand economic and geopolitical shocks using approximately 3,000 data points across 13 indicators. These indicators assess economic and geopolitical vulnerabilities, as well as the ability of institutions and economies to absorb and adapt to shocks. The recent decline reflects shifts in investor perception following recent geopolitical turbulence.
