Moldova Education Minister Dan Perciun says discussion may have contributed to ex-PM Alexandru Munteanu's resignation
Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun told a TV interview that, while he cannot state that his tense meeting with former Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu caused the latter’s resignation, the discussion could have played a role. He said the private conversation covered budget‑fiscal policy, governmental decision‑making and internal team functioning, but declined to provide further details.
The resignation occurred amid the formation of a new government led by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan, which later secured a parliamentary confidence vote. Perciun’s comments came as the ruling party PAS backed the new cabinet and outlined its three‑year program for an “efficient state” and a European economy.
