Moldova expands chemotherapy services to Anenii Noi and Soroca hospitals
From 3 August, regional hospitals in Anenii Noi and Soroca will begin offering chemotherapy, allowing eligible cancer patients to receive treatment without traveling to Chișinău. The rollout is part of a national program coordinated by the Ministry of Health and the National Institute of Oncology, aimed at reducing patients' physical and financial burdens while maintaining high safety standards.
The initiative follows a pilot phase in six other districts that has already treated about 400 patients with nearly 600 chemotherapy courses. Medical staff in the new centres have completed specialized training, and treatment protocols will be overseen by the Institute’s multidisciplinary council to ensure compliance with national clinical guidelines. The Ministry plans to extend the model to additional districts as capacity and training allow.
