Moldova expects increased plum harvest for EU exports
Moldovan plum producers are entering the harvest season with positive outlooks, expecting a yield approximately 12% to 16% higher than in 2025. The fruit is reported to have good firmness, attractive color, and solid commercial quality suitable for export.
Approximately 66% of the plums exported by Moldova are destined for the European Union. Key varieties include Stanley, which is noted for its size and conservation potential, as well as Lipotița, President, Top Hit, August Delight, and Blue Moon. The staggered ripening periods of these varieties allow for an extended harvest campaign and a diversified export offering.
