Moldova extradites two INTERPOL fugitives to Romania and Kyrgyzstan
Moldovan border police have extradited two men wanted internationally via INTERPOL to Romania and the Kyrgyz Republic. The extraditions were carried out following decisions by courts in Chișinău.
The first individual, a 56-year-old man with Romanian and Ukrainian citizenship, was apprehended at the Criva–Mămăliga border crossing in February. He was wanted by Romanian authorities for cigarette smuggling. Following a final court decision, he was handed over to Romanian officials at the Leușeni–Albița border point on October 15.
The second individual, a 36-year-old citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic, was detained at an airport and is wanted for fraud. He was extradited to Kyrgyzstan following judicial proceedings in Moldova.
