Moldovan Government Launches EU-Funded Paid Internships for 85 Young Professionals

Eighty‑five young men and women will begin paid internships in Moldovan public institutions as part of the sixth edition of the government’s internship programme. The scheme, financed by the European Union, provides a monthly stipend of 3,500 lei and aims to attract, train and retain a new generation of civil servants.

A total of 146 internship positions were advertised, drawing 261 applications. After an interview stage involving 180 candidates, 84 (reported as 85 in some sources) were selected to start their placements. Participants will work alongside officials, attend training sessions, seminars and workshops, and those who complete the programme with a “very good” rating may be offered permanent employment without a competitive exam.

In parallel, a separate EU‑supported initiative places 64 additional youths in two‑month assignments within public authorities. Both programmes are part of the “Moldova is Europe – Support for EU integration” project, backed by the EU and Denmark, and are intended to modernise the public administration and strengthen Moldova’s EU accession efforts.
