Moldova healthcare: 75% of patients report satisfaction
Preliminary data from the ‘Vocea pacientului’ (Voice of the Patient) platform indicates that approximately three out of four respondents are satisfied with medical services in Moldova. The data, presented at the 2026 Patient Forum, is based on 5,677 questionnaires completed between April 28 and September 30 across 120 medical institutions, including 61 hospitals and 59 primary care providers.
Health Minister Alexandru Gasnaș emphasized that patient experience should serve as a key metric for evaluating medical service quality and institutional management performance. He noted that while financial constraints, staff shortages, and infrastructure issues are significant, many deficiencies can be addressed through better organization, effective communication, and managerial accountability rather than major legislative changes or large investments.
The Minister highlighted the need for a patient-centered system that provides guidance and information, ensuring patients do not feel abandoned or forced to navigate the rigid medical system alone. He noted that even minor issues, such as the quality of food service, impact a patient's sense of dignity and respect within the healthcare environment.
