Moldova launches 2026 Diaspora Days programme

The Moldovan Office for Diaspora Relations announced the 10th edition of the Diaspora Days, scheduled for 3‑21 August 2026 under the theme “Anywhere we are, Moldova unites us.” The three‑week programme will feature cultural, educational, civic, tourism and sport activities aimed at reconnecting the diaspora with the country and encouraging their contributions to national development.

The flagship event is the Diaspora Forum on 7 August, bringing together diaspora representatives, public officials and civil‑society actors for three thematic panels on civic involvement and EU integration, exchange of best practices, and the role of the diaspora in sustainable development. Additional highlights include a book exhibition, author meet‑ups, a “Youth Talk” session, hiking trips, a football Cup of the Diaspora on 15 August, and a City Quest game exploring Chișinău’s landmarks. Twenty‑two public institutions will hold an “Open Doors” day and a total of 31 workshops will be offered both in‑person and online.
