Moldova launches agricultural subsidies for soil protection

The Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) has opened a new funding call for farmers to support investments in protecting agricultural land and improving soil fertility. Under the DR-06 intervention, eligible applicants can receive up to 500,000 lei to combat land degradation and increase resilience to climate change.

Funding is available to farmers, local public authorities, and producer groups. The state will cover 50% of eligible investment costs, up to the maximum limit. Eligible projects include the creation of protective forest strips, soil erosion control, reforestation of landslide-affected areas, and the construction of embankments.

Additionally, funds can be used for grassing between rows in vineyards and orchards, managing pastures on slopes, and improving soil quality through the application of materials such as manure, gypsum, or sludge. Applications can be submitted between October 28 and November 27, 2026. Projects must be implemented within 36 months, and beneficiaries must ensure the investment's durability for five years.
