Moldova launches Capital of Youth 2027 competition with up to 2 million lei grant
The National Agency for Youth in Moldova has opened a contest to select the town that will hold the title of “Capital of Youth 2027”. Eligible local public authorities may submit applications, and the winning locality will receive a financial award of up to 2 million lei.
Chișinău Mayor Ion Ceban toured the Bubuieci suburb, highlighting recent and planned infrastructure works that support the town’s bid. He noted that the municipality has invested roughly 29 million lei between 2020‑2025 on road resurfacing, drainage and water networks, school and kindergarten upgrades, a new multi‑purpose sports complex, medical point, street lighting and new bus routes. Ceban emphasized that these investments are made regardless of political affiliation.
The competition aims to promote youth‑focused activities and improve local amenities, with the financial prize intended to further develop the selected capital’s facilities.
