Moldova launches ‘Stop Drog’ for anonymous drug reporting
The General Inspectorate of Police in Moldova has launched ‘Stop Drog’, a digital platform allowing citizens to report drug consumption or trafficking anonymously. The tool, which includes a web form and mobile applications for Google Play and the App Store, is available in Romanian, Russian, and English.
Reports submitted through the platform are automatically distributed to the relevant police inspectorates for analysis. According to Police Chief Viorel Cernăuțeanu, the accumulated data will help identify high-activity areas to better direct police patrols.
Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin emphasized that the platform provides a secure communication channel, noting the importance of reaching parents, teachers, and children to protect them from drug-related risks. Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun added that educational institutions are encouraged to use the platform to report suspicious activity in schools and surrounding localities. Authorities clarified that the platform is not a substitute for emergency services and urged citizens to call 112 for immediate threats to life or property.
