Moldova launches ‘Young Researcher’ contest for ethnic minority students

The Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova has announced the second edition of the republican contest ‘Young Researcher’. The competition is specifically designed for students from ethnic minority groups within general education institutions.

The theme for this year is ‘35 years of independence of the Republic of Moldova: together we create our country’s history’. Participants are invited to write essays in their mother tongue, covering topics such as Moldova’s path to independence, family and community history, the contribution of various ethnic groups to the nation, and the preservation of cultural heritage.

The contest will proceed in two stages. During the local stage, educational institutions will evaluate submissions and forward the best essays to the appropriate ethnic organizing committees. In the republican stage, essays will be examined within specific ethnic sections, including Ukrainian, Bulgarian, and Russian. The authors of the best works will be invited to participate in an oral examination.
