Moldova Ministry of Education launches free AI course for students

On July 7, the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova introduced a free, online artificial‑intelligence (AI) course aimed at middle‑school and high‑school pupils and anyone else interested. The programme consists of 26 short video lessons, each up to four minutes, hosted on the ministry’s YouTube channel. Topics include writing effective prompts, configuring virtual agents, securing accounts, recognising AI‑generated “hallucinations”, using ChatGPT as a personal tutor, interacting with documents and images, and basic data analysis. Education Minister Dan Perciun urged students to “use the summer vacation to complete the course and return to school better prepared to use this new tool responsibly, building confidence and critical thinking.”

The course is implemented by UNICEF Moldova in partnership with the Global Partnership for Education and the ministry, aiming to teach young people to employ AI technologies safely, responsibly and creatively.
