Moldova PM Alexandru Munteanu holds talks with farmer groups on policy measures

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu met with representatives of the National Farmers Federation of Moldova and the Association of Women for Resilient Agriculture at the Government building. Participants included Agriculture Minister Ludmila Catlabuga, Finance Minister Andrian Gavriliță and other officials.

The discussion covered agricultural risk management, productivity gains, access to favourable financing, seasonal labour supply, revisions to the Daily Workers Law, ongoing fiscal policy consultations, improved reporting and data digitisation, and the use of state‑owned assets for tourism and promotion of local products. Farmers also raised concerns about the current insolvency law and execution code, which they say hinder their operations. The government said it will examine these issues on the relevant ministry platforms.

Munteanu emphasized the need for a constructive dialogue, stating, “It is a complicated period for agriculture. The best decisions are made when we sit at the same table and talk openly.” He pledged to continue such meetings, noting that farmers seek predictability, fair rules and constant communication.
