Moldova political scene undergoes reconfiguration ahead of elections

The political landscape in the Republic of Moldova is undergoing a period of reconfiguration as parties prepare for an upcoming electoral marathon, including local elections in 2027, presidential elections in 2028, and parliamentary elections in 2029.

Following a period of dominance by the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) in the pro-European sphere, smaller and medium-sized political formations are increasingly viewing strategic mergers as a necessity to build credible political teams and avoid fragmentation.
