Moldova prepares for National Wine Day record and addresses Transnistria protests

Moldova is preparing for its 25th National Wine Day, with organizers aiming to set a Guinness World Record. On October 3, participants in Chisinau's Great National Assembly Square intend to form the world's largest human image of a grapevine.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Eugeniu Osmochescu announced that the two-day event, held on October 3 and 4, is expected to attract approximately 200,000 visitors. The celebration will feature 114 wineries, including 49 small producers, and will include tastings, masterclasses, concerts, and exhibitions in Chisinau and the Orheiul Vechi Cultural and Natural Reserve.

In a separate political development, Parliament President Igor Grosu addressed protests in the Transnistria region regarding taxes on businesses located on the left bank of the Dniester. Grosu suggested these protests are linked to the upcoming State Duma elections in the Russian Federation, scheduled to begin on September 18.
