Moldova promotes domestic products through business forums and retail initiatives
Economic initiatives in Moldova are focusing on the promotion of domestic products and the strengthening of international trade relations. In Iași, Romania, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova, in collaboration with several partners including the Investment Agency of Moldova, is organizing the Moldova–Romania Business Forum. Scheduled for November 6, 2026, at Palas Mall Iași, the event aims to facilitate dialogue between business communities, stimulate commercial partnerships, and identify new market opportunities. The accompanying “Republica Moldova Prezintă” exhibition will feature approximately 50 Moldovan companies showcasing diverse products and services.
Domestically, the Moldretail Group supported the “Autohton. Valoros. Competitiv” conference held in Chișinău. The event brought together approximately 180 professionals from the retail and FMCG sectors to discuss the potential of Moldova’s food industry and the requirements for increasing the presence of local goods in modern commerce. Filip Cristescu, Commercial Director of Moldretail Group, noted that domestic products currently account for 59.3% of total sales within the group’s networks. He emphasized that sustainable collaboration between producers and retailers relies on legal compliance, adherence to commercial procedures, and operational capacity, specifically regarding food safety, traceability, and consistent delivery.
