Moldova raises top officials' salaries and launches AI partnership with Qatar
The Moldovan government approved pay raises for the president, prime minister and speaker of parliament, increasing their salaries to up to 65,000 lei. Deputies will see salaries around 37,000 lei. Labour Minister Natalia Plugaru said the hikes aim to correct long‑standing pay imbalances and affect only three senior positions, limiting the overall budget impact.
At the same time, Moldova announced a partnership with Qatar to export the digital devices used in its recent census, expanding cooperation in artificial‑intelligence applications.
The salary changes and the new AI collaboration were presented as steps toward modernising public administration and improving international tech cooperation.
