Moldova receives 73 applications for 39 judge posts amid reforms

The Moldovan justice system recorded strong interest in filling vacant positions, with 73 candidates submitting applications for 39 judge posts. Ten recent graduates of the National Institute of Justice (INJ) were also put forward for prosecutor vacancies following successful competition results.

These moves come as part of broader reforms aimed at aligning Moldova's judicial and prosecutorial institutions with European Union standards, a key component of the country's EU accession negotiations. The Supreme Council of Magistracy approved new staffing standards for each court to improve resource distribution, and a joint working group was created to boost the attractiveness of judicial careers and retain qualified professionals.
