Moldova records over 66,000 border crossings in 24 hours

In the latest 24‑hour period, Moldova’s state border points logged 66,872 person entries and 11,893 vehicle passages. The busiest checkpoint was Chișinău International Airport with 22,336 persons, followed by Leușeni (6,340), Otaci (5,585), Palanca (5,417) and Sculeni (5,041). Authorities denied entry to 32 foreign nationals and recorded 35 border violations, including three cases of illegal goods, three illegal person crossings, two instances of forged documents, six breaches of residency rules, fifteen infractions of border‑regime procedures and six other violations.

The Border Police advised alternative routes to ease congestion: for Leușeni‑Albița travelers, use Leova‑Bumbăta or Cahul‑Oancea; for Sculeni‑Sculeni, opt for Costești‑Stânca or Lipcani‑Rădăuți Prut; and for Palanca‑Maiaki‑Udobnoe, take Tudora‑Starokazacie.
