Moldovan girl returns home after fatal Chalkidiki car accident

A seven-year-old Moldovan girl, Patrizia, is being repatriated to Chisinau, Moldova, following a tragic car accident in Chalkidiki, Greece. The accident, which occurred on July 15 on the Agios Nikolaos–Nea Marmara road, resulted in the deaths of her parents and her six-month-old sister after their vehicle collided with a truck.

After approximately one month of intensive medical treatment in Thessaloniki, including surgery at Papageorgiou Hospital and a period on life support at Ippokrateio Hospital, Patrizia’s health has significantly improved. Doctors have cleared her for discharge.

The Moldovan Consulate in Thessaloniki coordinated the transfer, which involves a specialized ambulance sent from Moldova accompanied by a four-member medical team led by Dr. Dumitru Carasic. Patrizia has been supported throughout her recovery by her aunt.
