Moldova reports incidents of tree vandalism in Călărași and Bălți

Reports of environmental vandalism have emerged in Moldova, involving the destruction of trees in both the Călărași district and the municipality of Bălți.

In Călărași, Alexandru Corja, a representative of the National Environmental Guard, shared footage alleging that green trees were cut down rather than just dead wood. Corja stated he has documented several such cases and intends to provide further details and evidence.

In Bălți, Mayor Alexandr Petkov condemned the intentional breaking of young trees, describing the incident as a grave act of vandalism rather than simple hooliganism. The mayor announced that the local administration will replant the trees and expressed hope that police will identify those responsible so they can be held liable for the damages caused to the community.
