Moldova sets Guinness World Record for human grapevine formation
During Moldova's National Wine Day, 493 participants formed a human representation of a grapevine in the Great National Assembly Square, earning a certification from Guinness World Records. To ensure the formation was recognizable from above, participants wore specialized hats and t-shirts in five different colors.
Prime Minister Vasile Tofan defended the procurement of this attire, stating it is an “investment” rather than a waste of resources. He noted that the event is organized by the National Office of Wine and Vine, which he claims is largely funded by contributions from the wine sector's beneficiaries. Tofan emphasized that such celebrations serve to promote Moldovan wines globally and attract foreign tourists, describing wine as the country's “ambassadors in the world.”
