Moldova to host €250 million commercial center project
Companies SUMMA and FIBA have launched the construction of a new commercial center in Stăuceni, Moldova. The project is valued at approximately €250 million, representing about 1.3% of the country's Gross Domestic Product. It is noted as one of the largest private investments in the nation since its independence.
Prime Minister Vasile Tofan attended the launch, stating that such large-scale private investments are essential for achieving an annual economic growth rate of 4-5%. He highlighted the project's potential to create jobs, develop services, and attract regional visitors, including those from Romania, to boost tourism and local commerce.
SUMMA and FIBA are expanding their presence in Moldova, having previously invested in tourism, hospitality, and healthcare. The companies are also active in the energy sector, with ongoing projects including a wind farm with a capacity exceeding 40 MW and an energy storage system of over 10 MWh.
