Moldova to revise disability determination process

The Moldovan Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection have signed a joint order to establish a coordination group aimed at improving the disability determination process.

The group will propose revisions to evaluation criteria and modernize the current mechanism. The new assessment process will consider both medical diagnoses and the actual impact of the condition on an individual's life, including mobility, communication, professional activity, education, and social participation.

Additionally, the initiative includes the digitalization of medical forms and the implementation of interoperable electronic systems to allow for the seamless exchange of data between institutions, reducing the need for paper documentation.
