Moldova trains local authorities to support returning diaspora

The Moldovan Office for Diaspora Relations, backed by UNDP Moldova and financed by the Swiss government, launched a training and mentorship program for representatives of 15 level‑I local public authorities and native‑association groups. Over three modules, participants will learn to apply the National Return Assistance Mechanism, develop individual reintegration plans, forge local partnerships, and use practical tools such as the 2026 Return Support Guide, a focal‑point guide for diaspora, migration and development, an actor map and a local reintegration profile. The initiative aims to create a network of local support linked to the Office for Diaspora Relations, enhancing the capacity of municipalities to facilitate the reintegration of Moldovans returning from abroad.
