Moldova wins bronze at International English Language Olympiad

The national Olympic team from the Republic of Moldova secured a bronze medal in the team competition at the International English Language Olympiad. The event took place in Suceava, Romania, from September 6 to 12, 2026, involving 136 students from 14 different countries.

In the team category, the Moldovan students achieved third place by presenting a multimedia project based on the novel ‘The Hate U Give’ by Angie Thomas. Additionally, three individual students—Nicoleta Caraji, Andreea Darii, and Gabriela Gaberi—received honorable mentions for their performances.

The team consisted of Alexandra Dumbrăveanu, Nicoleta Caraji, Gabriela Gaberi, and Andreea Darii. They were prepared by Viorica Lifari and Alina Legcobit from the Moldova State University.
