Moldovan authorities investigate human body fragments found in Danceni lake

On July 12, a fisherman in Dănceni, Ialoveni district, reported finding multiple human body parts in a local lake. Police were alerted around 15:00 and immediately deployed an operational group, forensic specialists, divers and a forensic doctor to the site.

Investigators say the fragments belong to at least two victims, including a woman, and the crimes are estimated to have been committed within the past two months. Identification is difficult because not all body parts have been recovered. The police have urged anyone with information about missing persons in the last two months to come forward. “Pe moment, poliștii întreprind toate măsurile pentru stabilirea circumstanțelor și identificarea persoanelor,” the General Police Inspectorate said.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances of the deaths and locate any additional remains.
