Moldovan Border Police warns travelers to declare prescription medicines at customs

Moldovan Border Police advise that people crossing the border may only bring quantities of medication intended for personal use or for family members during the trip. Prescription‑only medicines must be declared in writing to the customs officer and travelers must carry the prescribing doctor’s documentation, including the drug name, dosage, treatment length and any doctor’s recommendations.

The medicines must be listed in the State Register of Medicines, cannot be intended for commercial sale, and are subject to value limits: over €300 for land transport or €430 for air travel, where applicable taxes must be paid. Authorities also stress proper summer storage – keeping medicines in cool, dry places away from direct sunlight, respecting temperature limits (generally up to 25 °C, except for items requiring refrigeration).
