On 15 July 2026 a vehicle carrying Lucia Sîrbu, 28, her husband Constantin Sîrbu, 35, and their 6‑month‑old daughter was involved in a head‑on collision with a tanker truck near the village of Metamorfosi in the Halkidiki region of Greece. The impact was severe; Lucia and the infant died at the scene, while Constantin was critically injured, transported to a hospital in Polygyros and died a few hours later. Their 7‑year‑old daughter survived but sustained serious injuries and was air‑lifted to a hospital in Thessaloniki, where she remains in intensive care.
