The municipality of Ungheni in Moldova attracted roughly €11 million from the EU "EU for Moldova – Key Regions" programme. Vice‑mayor Eduard Bălan said the money is being spent on urban infrastructure upgrades, digitalisation of municipal services, water and sewerage network rehabilitation and grants for local entrepreneurs.

The Moldovan government has adopted new rules to simplify the authorisation of strategic transport projects. The procedures for roads, rail, maritime and aviation works are capped at four years, with technical documentation, land acquisition and environmental safeguards coordinated through a single online portal and, for cross‑border projects, joint authorities with neighbouring states.

In a separate financial move, the government approved a €150 million loan to fund the "Livada Moldovei II" initiative. At the same time it raised several judicial service fees, for example increasing the cost of copying a page from 0.75 lei to 1 lei, and introduced charges for electronic monitoring of prisoners and for economic activities in penitentiaries, while eliminating some outdated fees such as those for parcel transport.
