Moldovan man dies in fatal motorcycle accident in Italy

A 47-year-old Moldovan man, a father of four, died following a motorcycle accident in Roverbella, near Mantova, Italy. The incident occurred around 20:00 on Monday, September 28, 2026.

According to eyewitnesses, the man was riding a Honda motorcycle and attempted to overtake two vehicles before losing control. The motorcycle left the roadway, struck an electricity pole, and landed in a roadside ditch. Emergency services, including the Carabinieri from San Giorgio Bigarello, Mantova provincial firefighters, and medical crews from Porto Emergenza, arrived at the scene. Despite resuscitation efforts, the man could not be saved.

Authorities have temporarily closed the affected road section for investigations. Investigators are examining several possibilities for the loss of control, including potential driver distraction or a risky maneuver.
