Moldovan National Theatre to perform at Piraeus Municipal Theatre

The Piraeus Municipal Theatre will host the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre from Chisinau, Moldova, for a performance of ‘The Glass Garden’ (Grădina de Sticlă). Supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Greece, the production is directed by Petru Hadârcă and translated by Angela Bratsu.

Based on the novel by Tatiana Țîbuleac, which received the 2019 European Union Prize for Literature, the play explores themes of female, maternal, and cultural identity. It follows the story of Lastotsika, an orphan girl raised in a Soviet-era apartment complex in Chisinau, navigating the complexities of language and social transition in a post-Soviet world.

The performance is scheduled for a single evening on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 19:00 on the Main Stage of the Piraeus Municipal Theatre.
