Moldovan nationals arrested in Italy for using forged documents
Two Moldovan nationals were arrested in Porto Ercole, Italy, after Carabinieri officers discovered forged identification documents during a routine traffic stop. The driver’s license exhibited technical printing irregularities and visual inconsistencies that prompted further investigation.
The men had reportedly fled Moldova to avoid military conscription and sought refuge in Italy. While one individual possessed a valid residence permit, the other two were found with counterfeit documents. The suspects, represented by attorney Beatrice Spinosa, have initiated procedures to request political asylum. They appeared before a judge in Grosseto to validate their arrests.
