Moldovan political parties announce merger to form pro-European force
Three Moldovan political parties—the League of Cities and Communes (LOC), the National Liberal Party (PNL), and the Coalition for Unity and Welfare (CUB)—have announced a merger to form a single national-liberal, pro-European political force. The initiative aims to consolidate center-right strength and reduce political fragmentation in the country.
The new formation intends to prioritize the integration of the Republic of Moldova into the European Union and strengthen ties with Romania through joint projects in infrastructure, economy, education, and administration. Key doctrinal objectives include protecting judicial independence, combating corruption, ensuring the protection of private property, and reducing bureaucracy.
Leaders from the participating parties, including Alexandru Bujorean (LOC), Victor Țărnă (CUB), and Iulia Deleu (PNL), stated that the goal is to create a modern, democratic platform that represents local administration experience alongside professional leadership to restore citizen trust in the political class.
