Moldovan political parties LOC and PNL initiate merger negotiations

The League of Cities and Communes (LOC) and the National Liberal Party (PNL) have announced the initiation of merger negotiations to create a single national-liberal political formation in the Republic of Moldova.

The joint declaration states that the move aims to address the political fragmentation of the right and strengthen the capacity to represent citizens who support European integration and closer relations with Romania. The resulting entity is intended to be a pro-European, democratic alternative focused on the rule of law and professional governance. The specific organizational formula and implementation calendar will be determined through mutual agreement between the two parties.
