Moldovan Prime Minister visits industrial plants in Fălești and Ungheni

Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tofan conducted working visits to several industrial enterprises in Fălești and Ungheni to discuss production expansion, labor shortages, and administrative burdens.

During the visits, Tofan highlighted the ability of Moldovan industry to compete in Europe through quality. He noted that local companies supply major European brands, including Fiat, Mercedes, and the Audi-Volkswagen group.

Key companies visited included Idea Moda, an Italian-invested garment factory that produces clothing for brands such as MEYER and Moncler. The company reported that while it cannot compete with Asia on price or volume, it maintains a competitive edge through quality. Another visited firm, Kab-lem, produces automotive wiring harnesses for various European manufacturers. While the company maintains high quality standards, representatives noted that bureaucratic regulations regarding labor and reporting remain significant challenges for local operations.
