Moldovan prosecutors send Rîșcani murder case to trial

The Prosecutor’s Office of Chișinău, Rîșcani district announced that the criminal investigation into a fatal robbery has been completed and the case forwarded to court. The investigation concerns a 1 May 2026 incident in which a 67‑year‑old woman was allegedly strangled with a cable after two 42‑year‑old suspects – a man and a woman – broke into her apartment in the Rîșcani sector.

The authorities have charged the pair with murder and are preparing to bring them before the court for trial.
