Moldovan trade unions hold meetings on labor rights and workplace equality
The National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova (CNSM) held a meeting at the Alexei Mateevici Theater in Chișinău on September 17, 2026. The meeting coincided with the designation of 2026 as the Year of Cultural Workers, focusing on improving working conditions, social protection, and rights for employees in the cultural sector.
During the session, the CNSM reviewed the activities of its Labor Inspectorate for the first half of 2026. Inspectors conducted visits to 120 entities, covering 12,343 employees. The majority of these inspections took place in the education (75 entities) and medical (22 entities) sectors, alongside visits to the energy, agricultural, and public administration sectors.
In a separate initiative in Florești on September 18, 2026, the SINDLUCAS Trade Union Federation, in partnership with the CNSM and the Danish Trade Union Development Agency, hosted a forum focused on promoting equal opportunities in the workplace. Additionally, an information session was held in collaboration with the Women's Law Center regarding the prevention and combatting of sexual harassment in the workplace.
