Moldova's 2% tax allocation reaches record 25.8 million lei in 2026

In 2026 Moldova’s “Law 2 %”—the mechanism that lets taxpayers divert two percent of their income tax to eligible non‑profit or religious entities—recorded 25.8 million lei in allocations, the highest amount since the scheme began in 2017.

The State Tax Service validated allocations to 1,218 organisations. The largest single recipient was the Association “Viață fără Leucemie” with 626,858 lei, followed by the Association “AJUTĂ UN OM” (300,982 lei) and the Monastery “Nașterea Maicii Domnului” in Curchi (282,342 lei). Other notable beneficiaries included the National Firefighters’ Sports Federation, the “AOVA” association and the Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation, each receiving between 235,000 and 247,000 lei.

Under the law, resident individuals without tax arrears may designate 2 % of their due income tax to a qualified organisation; the remaining 98 % stays in the state budget. The scheme has expanded from 302 beneficiaries and roughly 2.8 million lei in its first year to the current scale, marking a ten‑year growth in both participants and funds.
