Moldova's Digital Public Services Save 853 Million Lei in 2025

The adoption of digital public services in Moldova generated estimated savings of more than 853 million lei in 2025, according to the Electronic Governance Agency (AGE). The calculation is based on an average hourly wage of about 91.5 lei, derived from the national average monthly salary of 15 472 lei. Approximately 230.8 million lei of the savings benefited citizens while 622.6 million lei benefited businesses. The digital interactions saved over 9.3 million hours in total – about 2.5 million hours for citizens and 6.8 million hours for companies – by eliminating the need to visit physical offices. Services are accessed via the EVO app and a dedicated online portal.

Separately, Moldova’s e‑commerce sector surged, with citizens spending nearly 15 billion lei abroad last year. The boom in online shopping has driven an unprecedented increase in postal service activity, reviving a sector that had been stagnant for years, according to economic policy expert Veaceslav Ioniță. The heightened demand is reshaping the national postal market.
