Chișinău readies water and fuel reserves as hydrological‑energy alert takes hold

The Chișinău municipal Commission for Exceptional Situations approved a set of emergency measures in response to a national hydrological and energy alert. The decision creates sector‑level working groups, coordinated by the city’s mayors, to monitor water and fuel stocks and report regularly to the commission.

The municipality will form reserves of fuel for continuous operation of public services, public transport, municipal vehicles, generators and other critical infrastructure. It also authorises the procurement and installation of water storage equipment—including eurocubes, tanks, cisterns and similar accessories—to ensure a reliable supply of potable and technical water.

Apă‑Canal Chișinău is tasked with continuous monitoring of the hydrological situation and the water supply system. Funding for these measures comes from approved municipal budget allocations.
