Moldova's 'Satul European' programme upgrades water, lighting and school facilities in rural communes

In the commune of Răscăieți, Stefan Voda district, three projects financed through the national "Satul European" programme are under way. A new water‑supply system – a 7.37 km pipeline, two towers, an artesian well and a treatment station – will serve about 400 residents, 100 children and local institutions, with more than 7 million lei allocated. A separate early‑education project equipped the "Andrieș" kindergarten with 271 furniture items for 93 children and 25 staff, funded with 457 000 lei. The "Satul European Expres" initiative installed 91 LED streetlights, extending illumination by over three kilometres and raising coverage to 80%, benefitting roughly 2 800 people.

Meanwhile, in Ustia, Dubăsari district, the same programme is modernising the "Andrieș" kindergarten. Over 4.5 million lei are being spent to upgrade facilities for 122 children and 40 employees, with work slated for completion by the end of October. Both projects are part of the government's effort to improve basic services and living conditions in Moldova's rural areas.
