Molfetta and Giovinazzo launch coastal cleanup and safety projects

The municipality of Molfetta awarded ASM Srl, the city‑owned service company, additional seasonal contracts to maintain and clean the beachfront, disinfect public sewers, and carry out pest‑control measures. Mayor Manuel Minervini said the move marks a concrete step toward restoring full administrative and operational normality after a period of disruption.

In nearby Giovinazzo, Mayor Michele Sollecito announced that preliminary geotechnical, morpho‑batimetric and ecological surveys are underway on the southern coast from the old port to the locality of Cappella. The studies are intended to guide future consolidation works that will make the Levante shoreline safer and restore a large public beach for residents and visitors.

Both initiatives reflect local governments’ efforts to improve coastal environment, public safety and tourism amenities along Italy’s Adriatic coast.
