Molfetta and neighboring towns launch coastal mobility and infrastructure projects

Molfetta, Giovinazzo, and Terlizzi have launched the ‘Dalla terra al mare’ (From land to sea) Territorial Urban Strategy, funded by the Puglia Region. The initiative aims to improve sustainable mobility, enhance tourism, and strengthen the connection between urban centers and the coastline. A key component involves over €1 million allocated to create cycle-pedestrian access points between the Molfetta-Giovinazzo cycle path and the Levante Forte coastline.

The project includes the installation of permeable paving, low-impact LED lighting, video surveillance, green islands with new trees, and outdoor sports equipment. The goal is to improve microclimatic comfort and landscape quality while ensuring safe, continuous access to public beaches.

Separately, municipal technicians in Molfetta have initiated the replacement of eight public lighting supports on the Lungomare Colonna following inspections that identified stability concerns caused by severe weather. Molfetta Multiservizi s. r. l. has begun dismantling the old structures and requested replacements. Temporary lighting has been installed to maintain safety on the affected road section during the transition.
