Molino Fénix corruption probe targets San Luis officials
An investigation into the Molino Fénix complex in Villa Mercedes, San Luis, has led to significant legal actions involving provincial officials. Prosecutors are investigating alleged irregular maneuvers occurring between 2020 and 2023 regarding the administration of the Casa de la Música. The case involves an estimated loss of 900 million pesos.
Anabela Lucero, former administrator of Molino Fénix and former deputy, has been placed under 60-day preventive detention. The investigation includes charges of fraudulent administration, as well as the concealment and destruction of evidence. Other individuals named in the expanded charges include Enzo Lucero, Exequiel Scarel, and Diego Torres.
Additionally, the Public Prosecutor's Office has requested the stripping of parliamentary immunity (desafuero) for provincial deputy Joaquín Beltrán, who is the partner of Anabela Lucero. Judge Santiago Ortiz noted that Beltrán's current legislative immunity prevents the court from proceeding with requested coercive measures until the San Luis Chamber of Deputies acts on the request for his removal from office.
