Molise President extends ASREM Director General's term

Molise Regional President Francesco Roberti has signed a decree extending the term of Giovanni Di Santo as General Director of ASREM, the regional health agency. The extension will remain in effect until a selection process for a new director is completed.

The decree cites public interest and the need to ensure administrative and management continuity. However, the decision has drawn criticism from regional councilor Roberto Gravina of the Five Star Movement. Gravina characterized the extension as a “merely political” decision rather than one based on merit, noting that the extension occurs before the Evaluation Nucleus has assessed Di Santo’s performance.

Critics also pointed to the agency's financial situation, noting that the 2025 fiscal budget shows a loss of 43 million euros, which is nearly triple the 13.4 million euro loss reported in 2024.
