Molise President Roberti Opens Montecilfone–Berat Twin Town Agreement

The President of the Molise region, Francesco Roberti, welcomed a delegation from Berat, Albania, for the signing of a twinning pact with the Italian town of Montecilfone. The ceremony highlighted the historic and cultural links between the Molise area and the Arbëreshë community, descendants of Albanian settlers.

Roberti said the agreement is “more than an accord between two cities; it recognises a common history, shared language and traditions that live on in the Arbëreshë communities of Molise.” He added that the partnership will foster institutional, cultural, tourism and economic cooperation, creating new opportunities for younger generations on both sides of the Adriatic.

Both municipalities thanked local authorities for organising the event and pledged ongoing support for initiatives that celebrate their shared heritage.
