Moliterno and Osimo Stazione seek solutions to GP shortages

In the southern Italian town of Moliterno, Mayor Antonio Rubino announced the launch of an experimental "Health Desk" (Sportello Salute) to help residents, especially the elderly and frail, navigate appointments, administrative procedures and digital platforms. The initiative aims to ease pressure on emergency departments and is part of the municipality’s broader push for a community nurse and stronger territorial health services, using existing ASP premises for possible expansion.

In the Marche‑region frazione of Osimo Stazione, residents have lodged a protest over the chronic lack of general practitioners. The local civic group has presented a motion to the municipal council urging the mayor, the regional health authority and other bodies to allocate new doctors, convert municipal spaces into clinics and address the systemic staffing shortfall that especially impacts older and mobility‑limited citizens.
